Several German universities of the ZKI, including the University of Göttingen / GWDG, are jointly organizing the IT Security Awareness Days as a cross-university public online lecture series on the initiative of the TU Braunschweig from 07.06. to 18.06.2021. The 14 lecture topics range from “Security in the Home Office” to “Social Engineering” and are mostly aimed at users without prior knowledge.The event is open to the public, registration is not required.

A pioneering project for the introduction of 5G broadband technology is to be implemented in the Göttingen administrative district. The concept “Health5G.net - Innovative Patient Care through 5G”, which was developed together with the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and other partners including the GWDG, has received funding status for the project from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI).
