GWDG’s offering As the operator of the KISSKI AI Service Centre, GWDG makes external models available via Chat AI – including models from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude) and ElevenLabs – to its shareholders, to selected universities in Lower Saxony and, upon request, to customers with a service contract. The external models have so far been subsidised by GWDG for its members under a fair use policy, or, in the case of service contracts, financed directly by the customers.

This question is explored from the perspective of DARIAH-DE in the short film „DARIAH-DE – Perspectives on Humanities Research Infrastructure in the Context of AI“ published by various stakeholders.
The film focuses on how we, as researchers and as research infrastructure providers, can use AI to manage the vast amounts of research data we deal with today. It demonstrates that established research infrastructures will remain a crucial support for researchers in the coming years.

over the past months, we have made significant strides in strengthening the security posture of the ChatAI service through a comprehensive set of technical and organizational enhancements. These improvements are either integrated into the ChatAI frontend and the SAIA platform that hosts our backend infrastructure or measures will be dedicated for deployment of use cases requiring data class D.
