GÖ* project “Standardized Organizational Management”
The Georg-August-Universität Göttingen requires a standardized organizational structure to efficiently implement digital work processes. In addition, standardized organizational management simplifies the creation of evaluations and reports, e.g., for the evaluation of research publications.
Organizational management encompasses a continuously maintained structure and the associated persons in an organization and should be available at a central location in order to pass this information on to other systems and processes.
The goal of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is to establish standardized organizational management in the existing identity management system and to link the existing structures and systems.
Why is organizational management necessary?
Within the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, there are currently inconsistent and sometimes contradictory organizational structures in different systems:
- The SAP system represents the organizational structure from a cost center perspective.
- eCampus represents an organizational structure predominantly characterized by the organization of (teaching) events.
- The electronic telephone directory (ETB) also contains an organizational structure and other information (e.g., address, room number).
The project will focus on the following areas:
- Uniform view of the organizational structure
- Central location for storing and maintaining the organizational structure with easy data transfer/retrieval options
- Option to create organizational units centrally outside of cost center structures, e.g., to represent and utilize research collaborations or other scientific structures
- Central information and inquiry system for employees to obtain an overview of the specific responsibilities of individuals within the various institutions (e.g., who is the manager?)
- Connection of additional systems and processes (e.g., Lucom, eCampus, research information system)
